Well, I know I haven't posted in about... a long time (I was never very good at math), but I thought I'd do a little update.

I'm back in Chicago, gearing up for another school year. It is the same and it is different. I'm still sharing an apartment with three of my friends (V, Angela, and Jenna). I'm still a theatre major. Shock.

Today V and I traversed Michigan Avenue in search of nothing in particular. It was overcast and slightly cooler (temperature-wise) than it has been the last couple of days, which was nice. We were still sweaty and gross (or at least I was), but whatever.

I love the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. And the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Store. I got a killer tote bag on sale for twelve dollars. It's pretty awesome. I'm not gonna lie.

New favorite thing to listen to: Anything by Adam Green. Wow. Check him out. He's gonna be at the Beat Kitchen on the 20th. V and I are thinking about going. Hilarious. He's like a Rock & Roll Comedian. No joke.

I hate listening to people talk on their cell phones in public places, such as the bus or the train or a restaurant. Hate it.

I'm not subjecting you to my random banter, so have a little respect for me. I mean, one quick phone call, maybe two- no problem. I'd rather not hear any at all, but I'll take what I can get. However, if you're getting/making call after call- sometimes having one call interrupted with another- and telling the same damn story about a bachelorette party and your friend's dad who owns four restaurants in Chicago and about how you went to this expensive hotel for drinks, well you didn't get a drink, you just got hot chocolate- SHUT THE FUCK UP! I DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT ONCE, LET ALONE FIVE HUNDRED TIMES!!!!

If tested in this manner for too long, I might accept a call coming into my cell phone (which is on 'Silent' in any of the three above-mentioned places) and have a very, very brief phone call that ends with a very, very audible "Well, I'm gonna cut this short because I think it's really rude to talk on a cell phone (on/in) ___ a (bus/train/restaurant) __________."

Or, you know, perhaps as an alternate plan I'll rip the cell phone directly from said annoying person's ear, call Tokyo, and shove the cell phone down that person's throat.

Either way, I'm sure I'll feel better.

And maybe learn a little Japanese.

Well, this is it. The big shebang. The semester is over. I can do whatever I want. EXCELLENT...

I can play in the snow and read tons of books and go out with friends and excercise my butt off (we're going for literally, here) and hang out with with Zack and earn some money and see RENT a zillion times and have fun and be happy and work on some stuff I've been writing and rent all the movies I keep saying I'm gonna watch and get some sun in Puerto Rico and paint my nails and look cute and dance til I can't breathe and... oh, man. There are so many possibilities. I love this. I love this so much.

I'm going to be happy, did I mention that? I am. Here and now, I take my stand and say, "Dammit, I will be happy. I will control my own destiny and not worry about the little things and start living for the big things and enjoy the person I've become. Because, personally, I think she's pretty damn awesome.

Here we go (and you know, I believe this falls under the category of 'More Library Woes' somehow. Trust me): School was going pretty well for a while (and still is, don't get me wrong) but as the school year drags on I realize more and more that... well... I may have taken a step down in transfering here. It's one big frustration involving classes and credits, casting for plays, and the fact that I somehow always end up in the damn booth. Which, I guess, falls into 'casting for plays'. Whatever. :) I guess I'm just missing my old school where the facilities rocked, I knew where I stood on the totem pole before auditioning for shows, and there was a little thing called 'a positive community' with which to fall back on. Not that I'm not finding my small little niche in the community here, it's just... different. Yeah. And not as positive all the time- people here can be really rude and harsh about each other. Behind their backs, of course. Whatever. I know that I'm better than that. Wow, that was a long list of woes. On to hoes:

Ok, I really don't have anything on hoes. Unless you count the gardening tool that I used to use in my garden tending. Which, by the way- did you know that 'gardening' and 'husbandry' used to be synonymous? Random information that you'll never use, but still. And interesting fact. Ok. On to new clothes:

I can't wait to get some! As you may know, I've dropped some weight recently and none of my clothes fit me properly. None of them. Ok, maybe my skivvies, but that's about it. I can wear my jeans for... about an hour before they become ginormous again. Which may be due in part to the ridiculous stretchy material that has snaked its way into practically every garment these days, but still... I mean, we're talking jeans freshly washed and dryed on high power that refuse to fit me after an hour. On the plus side, that means that I can wear one pair of pants on top of another pair of pants, which essentially causes the under pants (haha) to serve as long underwear and protects me from the wind here in The Windy City. Meh. I'll handle the cold as long as I can look someone presentable. Which is why I plan to buy a pair of jeans this weekend that actually fits me. Rock on. :)

My weekend: Good. No, I'm underappreciating it. My weekend rocked. Getting to know UICians better, getting to reunite with Shack people. Shack people sounds very odd, but if you're one of them, you just plain get it. Got it? Good.

My Monday: Shaping up to be a bitch. Court, going back to school, trying to make classes and a meeting. Then... supposedly having a "chat" when I go home. Awesome. Should be... great.

My Week: Should be sweet. I've got a paper due Thursday on a book that I can't find ANYWHERE. Stupid Poles. I had to order it online because my school's bookstore sucks major ass. I had to pay an extra 16 bucks for overnight delivery, and there's still no guarantee it'll be here in time. So that should be super fun.

My prognosis: That I'll still have a good week. Why? 'Cuz Friday is Rex Manning day!

My next weekend: Going to Jeni and Ish's and they're gonna take me to see a show, then Saturday's Thanksgiving at my house (Don't ask. We apparently have a time warp going on), then Sunday is BRUNCH DAY at my apartment. Yeeha. Huh. That didn't fit in at all.

Seriously, folks... I'm having a blast at school and a blast in the off-time, and am a happy kid in general.

That being said, I clearly did not have a good day in court. Waited forever (they started really late, of course), then wasn't on the roster or whatever the hell they have, then got up there, pled 'Not Guilty' and THEN the fucker showed up. The fucker, being of course, the guy who hit me. He made this big dramatic scene wherein he said

"I just want- you know, I want- I just want, you know, compensation. I been off work since da accident. I got fih kids, ya know? I just want, you know, compensation." I swear to God. He scored no points with the judge at all.

He didn't have his liscense because apparently he had too many unpaid tickets on it. But he kept going on about how it was all my fault and yadda, yadda, yadda. Fuck off. I just stood there and didn't say a word. He kep walking all over the place, couldn't stand still, talking about compensation. And the judge stopped him saying basically, that he couldn't do anything about that and asking if he'd been contacted by my insurance company and whatever, but the guy just didn't get it. And because he doesn't have a liscense, I have to go back there on October 24. Which means I'll miss my theatre classes that day. FUCKER! This is so ridiculous.

So I was in a car accident a few hours ago. I don't know what to say about it, really. The only car accident I've ever had was a minor fender-bender when I was sixteen. This was a whole different story. My car was in completely the opposite direction from what I'd been going. The entire front end/passenger side is wrecked. I am cut, bruised, burned, and lacerated. I am stiff and sore and worn out from crying.

I've never had to call 911 before. Never had to try and keep a guy talking so that he wouldn't pass out. Never had to answer questions like the ones I was asked. Never had to watch someone panic like that. Never panicked like that. I just.. never. I've never been so thankful that Brynn, for all the bruises she will have, was ok. Never been so thankful that I wasn't more seriously hurt. Never was as scared as I was for the other driver. For Patrick. Who scared the fucking hell out of me.

All I can say is:

So, I've just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince... I've seriously been bawling since about 40 minutes ago, when- No, I can't say (I don't want someone to accidentally read something if they haven't finished it. Or if someone isn't in to them yet, but starts reading them at some other point down the line and remember things mentioned here. It would be too cruel, in either case). Someone said something in the book a few chapters ago, and I just- I just started crying and haven't stopped. I cannot BELIEVE the things that happened in this book. And what ISN'T going to happen in the next book! I never even CONSIDERED that- Grrr. I need to have the next book NOW!

As for now, I've half a mind to just continue re-reading the first six over and over again until the seventh book comes out. And after the seventh comes out, cry for about a month over the fact that that's it. That's the end. I can't believe it. Wow.

Dun dun dunnnnnn. So, the show opens a week from tomorrow, which is awesome, 'cuz I think rehearsals are going really well. How I feel about the technical process, I won't even begin to discuss. Let's just say that it hasn't been a feel-good experience. All I wanted to do was try to raise money for scholarships at ECC. That's all. I didn't want this huge headache and stomach ache I've had for days now. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess. I don't know. I just wish things had gone differently. I wish I'd asked for dates that things needed to be done by. I wish that I knew to ask all of the questions that would have saved myself and Veronica from feeling angry and like crap all at the same time. But I didn't, 'cuz I've never produced before. Oh, well. Live and learn. And then get Luvs!

Moving along, I'm hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome! And it's good to be here! My trip was awesome, and I enjoyed it a lot (and was annoyed a lot, too, but everything is heightened on trips, you can't avoid it), but there really is no place like home.

For future reference, I am no longer allowed to go on trips because, apparently, I am considered the Mecca of strange, dirty, homeless and/or creepy men. That is all.

In further news, Monday and Tuesday next week are auditions for "The Insanity of Mary Girard". If you want to audition but have questions about anything, give me a call, email me, or leave a lil comment on this blog.

It is now my intention to go play video games for several hours. And then I'm heading to Jenni and Ish's for the Big Ass BBQ. Which will rock my socks off.

Hey all! Morgan here with one last update before I head off to never-never land. I mean, Europe. Lots has been happening lately. I turned 20, which means very soon I'll be 21 (YAY!). I finished classes for the semester, which means that in a few short months I'll be heading off to UIC! Rock on. I am one of two producers for a fundraiser show at ECC (The Insanity of Mary Girard). Call me or email me if you're interested in auditioning. And, finally, I am getting ready for a trip to London and Dublin. I'm really excited and can't wait for tomorrow. I'll be gone May 22nd thru June 2nd, which means that all of you unfortunate enough to be stuck at home will go through Morgan Withdrawl and much pain and suffering. But, alas, it must be done. Here we are again... pretending to give a damn about this blog and pretending to give a damn about life in general. But that is how it is, I suppose. A constant circle of pretense and false interest. Meh.

My cell phone has decided to go haywire and refuse to let me know when calls are coming in as well as let me listen to the voicemails it tells me I have. Technology: What a wonderful gift.

My brother has come home from the hospital again but since Friday night has still been seizing regularly. If he isn't metabolizing his medicine correctly by Monday he will have to go back into the hospital.

Suzanne, my oldest sister, left for Colombia for a year. It kept being pushed back but then suddenly worked out and I didn't know she was really leaving until two days before she left. I barely got to say goodbye to her.

I should be studying for my biology exam/studying my lines for lit performance/studying my lines for the Razzle, but at this point I've studied so much my head may explode in a matter of minutes. Which might not be too bad.

So here we are again. My last post was roughly... a while ago. We won't get into particulars. I received a couple of complaints concerning my hiatus from posting, and I'm here to set the record straight (You know, even after the long Email Wars of Last Winter I still can't figure out whether I'm using 'straight' correctly. Meh. I guess time will tell).

School is going ok. I'm feeling bogged down with work because I've got a heavier schedule than I've had in previous semesters. Plus I work two jobs. Plus I have rehearsals at night. And the play reading committee. I should actually be reading a play for the committe right now, but I just read two in a row and, frankly, I decided I needed a break. Otherwise I felt I was sure to pluck out my own eyes, boil them in water, and serve them for dessert to the troubador that just passed me. But that is besides the point.
